Job Description
Overall
- Identification and qualification of suppliers for different types of services for different geographical regions, fostering the creation of partnerships and recurring business.
- Interface with the different public agencies representing the company in the context of permitting process;
- Participate and contribute to the global actions of the environmental planning community together with the global regions (USA, Europe and Asia);
Development Phase
- Ensure the issuance of all the environmental, auxiliary permits and analysis reports for the development phase in close coordination with Business Development team;
- Prospection of new sites. Evaluate the environmental restrictions for areas candidate for land prospection;
- Due Diligence for acquisitions or sale of projects;
- Site Development. Hire, manage and approve the environmental/archaeological/etc studies needed for the issuance of all the preliminary licenses needed for auction participation;
- Work closely with land team to make sure that land regularization is done in time and with the proper scope that is needed for the licenses.
Construction Phase
- Ensure the issuance of all the environmental and auxiliary permits for construction phase in close coordination with the EPC team;
- Supervision of site construction. Hire, manage and approve the services for the execution of the social/environmental plans, communication plans, social actions and other related actions during construction;
- Ensure that the necessary follow‐up reports are produced and delivered to the environmental agencies and to the Investors and Banks;
Operation Phase
- Ensure the issuance and renewal of all the environmental and auxiliary permits for operational phase in close coordination with Asset Management team;
- Supervision of site operation. Hire, manage and approve the services for the execution of the environmental plans, communication plans, social actions and other related actions during operation;
- Ensure that the necessary follow‐up reports are produced and delivered to the environmental agencies and to the Investors and Banks;
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Biology, Environmental Engineering or other environmental formations;
- Fluent English and Portuguese, spoken and written. Additional languages are a plus, especially Spanish.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in the Solar PV, Wind Power or Small Hydro, especially in Brazil;
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience
- Experience in supporting multi‐functional projects in an international work environment with remote locations;
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian environmental legislation;
- Good knowledge of Brazilian land legislation;
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft office tools;
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
